Nexus Ratio

Short post!

I wanted to share the aspect ratios and intended colour themes for both episodes we'll be producing and releasing in November!

Episode 1 - 23/11/24

Aspect Ratio: 2:1

The Univisium aspect ratio was chosen by us for shots inside the TARDIS. See, we wanted to get a wider image so that when The Doctor would be stood in the room, the viewer would be reminded where The Doctor is and give a sense of Doctor Who - with the wider frame, this should capture the environment better in theory.

 

Episode 2 - 30/11/24

 

Aspect Ratio: 2:1, 1.85:1

The second episode will include the iMax-compatible 1.85:1 (similar to 16:9) aspect ratio, as we decided that for scenes outside the TARDIS, itd be important to include as much detail as possible of the surroundings. Also, since a few shots of the outside will be CGI, it'd be pointless to try and make them look realistic on zero budget, so we went all out and made sure most of the details were included!

For the same reason as in Episode 1, 2:1 was chosen to ensure the environment of the TARDIS was evident. 

I will try my best to ensure the changes in aspect ratio aren't jarring or overly noticeable lol
